Due to Hurricane Matthew this event will now be a one day event starting and finishing at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.
What is bike ms: Bike MS is the premier fundraising cycling series in the nation. With a choice of more than 100 extraordinary rides, the Bike MS experience is the ride of your life. Bike MS: PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore is a two-day event that benefits the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Participants cycle from TPC Sawgrass to the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Front Resort the first day and cycle back to TPC Sawgrass from Daytona the second day. There is also a shorter route option from Marineland to Daytona Beach. Cyclists will experience all of the beautiful scenery that North Florida has to offer, from the historic towns to the sandy beaches.
Who Rides: Any cyclist and all those seeking a personal challenge and a world free of MS!
Why Ride: To raise awareness and funds to help create a world free of MS. Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic, often disabling disease that affects the central nervous system. Donations raised through this event benefits the North Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its mission to mobilize people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenge of everyone affected by MS.
Why Volunteer: Bike MS is driven by over 350 volunteers each year. With the support of volunteers the chapter is able to host this event with minimal costs allowing us to raise as many funds as possible to help all affected by MS. Volunteer opportunities are available from TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra to Daytona Beach, FL. Volunteer shifts very based on assignment. Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.
Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The MS Bike Tour, MS Walk and MS Challenge Walk. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
