We are looking a volunteer Citizenship teacher that can dedicate 2 hours on Fridays from 2 to 4pm
Our organization is located in the South Bronx and we serve a large community of immigrants. Many of our clients seek to prepare for their upcoming Citizenship exam and interview.
Our class was created to assist those students with preparing them for the 100 questions for the citizenship exam and the oral portion of the test.
Students also learn about American culture and history and enhance their abilities to read, write, and speak English.
We are looking for someone that has worked in a small group setting before. Preferrably speaks 2 or more languages, has the ability to create and/or follow a curriculum, prepare and grade student work.
This person must be reliable and follows the schedule agreed upon at the time of volunteering.
Someone that has experience with preparing documents for the citizenship test would be a plus.
We are looking for a volunteer that will be dependable and able to teach every Friday (excluding holidays) for each 6 week session (two in total):
Class dates are TBD and class times are preferred 3-5pm but can be negotiated.
We ofcourse are happy to have someone that will be willing to work longterm as a volunteer teacher but atleast expect 2 sessions covered each term.
We provide groceries twice a month to the volunteer teacher as a thank you.
