SeniorServ provides programs for seniors who do not have strong communities but who very much need social connection. Our Friendly Visitor program matches a volunteer with a senior based on location and personality. As a volunteer, you can stop by your senior's house to share a cup of coffee, play cards, or just chat. We request that our volunteers visit for about an hour, once a week. It's rewarding to build a relationship with someone whose had a lifetime of experience. You really start to learn more about yourself and life as a Friendly Visitor.

We have a Vietnamese senior in Huntington Beach. She is very sweet and has a good sense of humor, but she's very lonely. She likes to go on walks and would like someone to talk with. She speaks both Vietnamese and English. We're looking for a female volunteer, as our client will be more comfortable with a female.

Call, email, or contact us through VolunteerMatch to schedule an interview at our Anaheim Headquarters location. We interview all potential volunteers to get to know more about you and how you want to serve seniors in Orange County. Bring your application to your interview. *Please know there is a $20 background check fee for all new volunteers.

Background Check: Once your background check results are in, we will schedule Orientation.

Orientation: At Orientation, you will learn about SeniorServ's impact on the community and how to be an effective Friendly Visitor. This is a great opportunity to learn about other Friendly Visitors' stories and to ask us any questions about the program. Orientation lasts about an hour.

Matching Process: After Orientation our coordinator will schedule a time to personally introduce you to our client and the visits begin from there!
