WOW! is currently recruiting volunteer Board Members to serve a two year term. As catalysts for the Museum’s continued growth and increasing impact in the community, this is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills, serve our mission and make great things happen for WOW! Our Board supports the Museum through each member’s unique skills, interests, background, and contacts, both professional and personal. We are particularly interested in board members with these skills:
- Community Leader/Fundraiser: WOW! is seeking a community leader to provide guidance in identifying, and evaluating major new prospects; and in setting appointments with major prospects and soliciting their donations. This individual should have a passion for the organization and ability to speak with enthusiasm about upcoming projects.
- Business Development Expert: WOW! is seeking a professional with experience in making strategic business decisions to increase profitability. This individual will provide guidance to board and staff on strategy, planning and problem solving, sharing their expert business skills and knowledge.

Mission Statement
WOW! Children’s Museum engages all families in educational, hands-on experiences that connect curiosity, creativity, and discovery.
Description
Since 1996, WOW! Children's Museum has served over one million visitors from throughout Colorado with quality, creative educational exhibits, programs and events for children and families. Founded in Louisville by community members who understood the importance of play in children's learning, WOW! was created to provide young children and families with a safe place to explore science, art, culture, music, practical life role-playing, and the dramatic arts through play. With support from the City of Lafayette, we relocated in 2004 to the old Lafayette fire station, and typically see nearly 80,000 visitors a year. Our exhibits are interactive in nature, designed to encourage learning through play and exploration -- from a child-sized Town Square with a bank, market and clinic, to an outdoor garden with tree stumps to climb and a 'mud kitchen' to get messy. We strive to be an inclusive learning environment. Through our Play For All program, we proudly offer low-cost memberships, field trips and visits to the Museum for families on public assistance, as well as programming for children of all abilities.
