Artsmith is a new nonprofit providing arts programming to children in the Bronx. We are currently looking for artists and/or teaching artists for various programs and events our organization runs.
Words vs. Pictures: Words vs. Pictures is our school year (October - June) visual and literary arts program serving elementary and middle school students. The program is designed to teach students ways to express themselves and explore important topics using various writing and art methods. We are looking for artists/teaching artists that can teach one or more visual arts disciplines - drawing/sketching, painting, photography, sculpture, etc. The program meets once per week on Saturday afternoons. Contact us whether you'd like to teach a single class or make a longer commitment.
Mommy & Me Art Class: We will be holding monthly events for moms and their young children to explore art projects together. We're looking for volunteers to design and facilitate the events.
Paint and Sip: Our paint and sips are fundraisers that are held at local Bronx breweries or restaurants. If you are a painter interested in leading these events please contact us. We will provide the necessary materials for the participants.
Complete our volunteer application at https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1918208357 and indicate which opportunity(ies) you are interested in.
At Artsmith, we are dedicated to providing arts education to young people in the Bronx who have little or no opportunity to experience the arts. We know that the arts provide our students with a great and safe place to learn creativity, experiment and take risks, develop discipline, and build confidence. Arts education should not be a question of access. You must believe in this mission to volunteer with us!
