Norfolk County RSVP is now seeking school volunteers to assist in the Weymouth Public Schools Extended Day School Program this fall. Whether you participate in afternoon or early morning activiites, there are lots of ways to get involved. Program sites are located in each of Weymouth's elementary schools.
Adult Volunteers assist Site Coordinators and a team of educators engage, guide and support students in a range of individual and small group activities (e.g., reading, homework assistance, creative game-play, to name just a few).
The goals of this excellent program are to foster initiative and independence, cooperation and self-control, choice and the assumption of responsibility. While permitting freedom within set limits, the program encourages creativity and provides activities that accommodate these needs while respecting cultural diversity.
Before-school: 7:30 - 8:45AM
After-school: 3:30 - 5:30PM
Even as little as an hour of your time each week is welcomed.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
