Musical Volunteers Needed...share your talent and compassion!!
Interim HealthCare Gift of Hospice
"Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours." -Elton John
Gift of Hospice is looking for talented and compassionate musicians to join our amazing volunteer team! You would provide music to our patients and families in their homes. We believe that music is a powerful tool that brings with it the opportunity to explore emotions and promote life review, comfort, serenity, joy, and healing. Spend an hour or two playing for your patient and talking about the memories and feelings surrounding the music.
Gift of Hospice provides services to our patients wherever they call home, whether it be a private residence or a skilled nursing facility, throughout all of San Diego County. Our mission is to give patient and family empowered care, preserving dignity and providing comfort.
Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care (i.e. changing a diaper, dispensing medications, etc.); you only provide companionship and socialization.
NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive 20 hour orientation as well as ongoing education and support. Volunteers must complete orientation, a 2 step TB test, drug screen, and background check per Medicare regulations.
