Purpose
To grow and enhance Passion Impact’s positive publicity online.
Description
Our Public Relations Intern will be responsible for managing our outward publicity. We are looking for consistent advertising and branding with regard to our vision to stick and grow in people’s minds. Our prime candidate will not only believe in our Golden Circle, but be invested in setting long term goals for our social media sites and executing weekly checkpoints and evaluations in order to ensure those goals are being met. Improvement is the name of the game, so let's have fun with it, increase followers, provide valuable information/links/resources and stay involved via our online presence!
Required Education
Recent graduate (within 1 year) or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in communication, english, writing, graphic design, or relevant field preferred.
Desired Skills
Proficient knowledge of Instagram, LinkedIn, Blogs, Youtube, Wordpress, and Twitter
Positive communication through email, phone, Skype, and face-to-face
Storytelling and writing background
Excellent grammar and strong research skills
Proactive communication skills with the ability to synthesize information in a compelling and succinct form
Team Player with outstanding planning skills
Proficient in Google Drive (Particularly Google Forms and Google Sheets or MS Excel) Google Calendar, Meistertask, MindMeister, Mailchimp, Canva, and/or ability to learn technology at a fast pace
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Enthusiastic about Passion Impact’s mission and team focused
Duties
Evaluate each SM outlet at the outset of your internship and each according week
Increase all SM engagement by 50% throughout internship
Increase followers on each SM platform to over 2000
Create & distribute Press Releases
Design graphics for and keep the website updated with all of our current actions
Collaborate with all team members to promote our work through PR
Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Serve on our Portland Advisory Board Community & Partnerships Committee
Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Commitment
February 4, 2017 - June 11, 2017 (possibility to extend based on performance and project availability)
Must Attend February 4, 2017 Training
Must attend weekly office meetings Monday 9-10 AM and Friday 12:30-1:30 PM
Compensation
As a small grassroots organization we do not currently have funding to compensate interns. If you are a student and qualify for workstudy at PCC or PSU, we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. We are also happy to help you receive course credit.
