Purpose:

To plan, implement, organize, and evaluate weekly Passion Impact meetings and leadership trainings at schools with students and community members.


Description : Passion Impact (PI) is a startup nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon that empowers students to build a healthy habit of volunteering their passions. Our Operations Intern will be responsible for confirming dates and volunteers, organizing agendas, preparing for meetings, and delegating the leadership at meetings and leadership trainings. Our prime candidate will not only believe in our Golden Circle and mission, but also be invested in setting long term goals for PI as a whole. We work hard at PI and expect the same of you, but you also better be ready to have fun!


Required Education:

  • Graduate or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in managerial science, communication, or related field of study


Objectives:

  • Work with the COIO to create objectives for the weekly meetings and leadership trainings

  • Implement weekly meetings and leadership trainings from September through December 2016 and January through May 2017

  • Evaluate meetings weekly and leadership trainings to ensure continuous improvement

  • Increase attendance and retention at meetings

  • Understand how Ethical Reasoning in Action ties to the internship, the people involved, and to yourself

  • Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation

  • Create at volunteer opportunities for at least 5 students to get engaged


Duties:

  • Develop volunteer opportunities for community members to get involved

  • Organize the Google Calendar

  • Work with Volunteer Fair Mentors to plan out a schedule that’s mutually beneficial

  • Reserve space for the meetings and communicate dates with the PI team, volunteers, and students

  • Work with SUN Directors to establish and plan Leadership Trainings at schools

  • Purchase all necessary materials and setup all meetings


Experience and Skills Desired:

  • Expert calendar mapping organization

  • Positive communication through email, phone, Skype, and face-to-face

  • Proficient in Google Drive (Particularly Google Forms and Google Sheets or MS Excel) Google Calendar, Meistertask, Mind Meister, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and/or ability to learn technology at a fast pace

  • Team player and the ability and willingness to work at least 10 hours per week


Minimum Commitment: August 29, 2016 - January 20, 2017 with possibility to extend based on performance and project availability



Compensation: As a small grassroots organizaiton we are currently unable to provide compensation for interns. However, if you are a student and qualify for work study we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. Additionally, we are happy to help you receive course credit for the internship.
