Purpose
To create a program that will help nonprofits connect with high school and college students on a deeper level promoting healthy habits of volunteering.
Description
We envision this program being a hit within the nonprofit community as they begin to realize the capabilities and potential of students in the Portland area. The training that will be created through this program will help nonprofits not only understand how to work with high school and college students, but also how to retain them as volunteers for longer periods of time. This position will require a great deal of research and understanding of both the student and nonprofit perspectives to accurately address the gap that exists between the groups.

Understand what is needed to connect nonprofits and students
Articulate a solid 2 year plan that will bring this program into fruition
Build a foundation for sustainability that can be replicated worldwide
Work with the Volunteer Researcher to understand the basics of nonprofits on a wider scale
Understand how Ethical Reasoning in Action ties to the internship, the people involved, and to yourself
Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Duties
Work with all positions to understand what they need from nonprofit partners
Work with nonprofits to understand what they need from students and problems with students volunteering
Build a pilot program that trains nonprofits from all angles
Gain testimonials from the first pilot group of nonprofits to recruit more nonprofits to pay for the program
Minimum Commitment: August 29, 2016 - January 20, 2017 with possibility to extend based on performance and project availability
Compensation: As a small grassroots organizaiton we are currently unable to provide compensation for interns. However, if you are a student and qualify for work study we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. Additionally, we are happy to help you receive course credit for the internship.More opportunities with Passion Impact, Inc.

Volunteer Positions Available: Lend your specialized skills to one of Passion Impact's capacity building committees. Committees meet monthly to do the behind-the-scenes work to ensure that the organization runs smoothly for the students we serve. If you prefer to build relationships with students, a Chaperone or Editor role may be more appropriate for you. Wherever you fit in, we welcome you!
