Fundraising Internship
Purpose
To create monetary value through events, community partnerships, and more that will help sustain PI programs.
Description
Passion Impact is a startup nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon that empowers students to build a healthy habit of volunteering their passions. As a nonprofit we rely heavily on donations from individuals to enable us to accomplish our mission. Fundraising events are an important outreach effort for us to acquire new donors. Reporting to the COIO, the Fundraising Intern will plan events and communicate and build relations with community partners with the goal to raise $10,000.
Required Education
Recent graduate (within 1 year) or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, hospitality, operations, social work, nonprofit management or related field of study preferred.
Desired Skills
Previous event planning and/or fundraising experience
Experience budgeting and/or accounting
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Enthusiastic about Passion Impact’s mission and team focused
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to remain calm in a high stress environment
Passionate about fundraising and furthering Passion Impact’s mission
Proficient in Google Drive (Particularly Google Forms and Google Sheets or MS Excel) Google Calendar, Meistertask, Mind Meister, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and/or ability to learn technology at a fast pace
Sponsorship communication with local companies
Research and presentation skills
Sales experience
Objectives
Plan a working calendar with goals through the end of the internship
Create $10,000 worth of fiscal and donated value
Evaluate the implementation of the plan
Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Duties
Collaborate with PI staff/interns to determine organizations that are the best fit for our mission & vision
Solicit donations from local businesses for year end event
Promote events by working with the Public Relations Intern
Serve on our Portland Advisory Board Community & Partnerships Committee
Commitment
February 4, 2017 - June 11, 2017 (possibility to extend based on performance and project availability)
Must Attend February 4, 2017 Training
Must attend weekly office meetings Monday 9-10 AM and Friday 12:30-1:30 PM
Compensation:
As a small grassroots organization we do not currently have funding to compensate interns. If you are a student and qualify for workstudy at PCC or PSU, we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. We are also happy to help you receive course credit.

Committees meet monthly to do the behind-the-scenes work to ensure that the organization runs smoothly for the students we serve.
