To construct and act on a sustainable approach to engaging existing and acquiring new donors.


Passion Impact (PI) is a startup nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon that empowers students to build a healthy habit of volunteering their passions. Donors are a large part of our team and we would like to engage them on a more meaningful level. By growing our relationships with our existing donors, we can learn better ways to approach our mission and to build a strong base of supporters in the Portland area. This position requires complete focus on donors with a combined understanding of how Passion Impact is moving forward. Our prime candidate will not only believe in our Golden Circle and mission, but also be invested in setting long term goals for PI as a whole. We work hard at PI and expect the same of you, but you also better be ready to have fun!

Required Education

  • Graduate or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, social sciences or other related field

Experience and Skills Desired

  • Database organization (Salesforce)

  • Positive communication through email, phone, Skype, and face-to-face

  • Budgeting

  • Planning

  • Google Applications

  • Mailchimp email experience


  • Identify and understand current Passion Impact donors

  • Plan communication methods, times, fields for understanding PI donors, and more in order to organize our Salesforce Database

  • Collect all data and organize the Salesforce Database

  • Communicate with Donors to understand how they would like to be contacted

  • Build a sustainable plan for any and future Donor Communication and Enhancement to follow

  • Understand how Ethical Reasoning in Action ties to the internship, the people involved, and to yourself

  • Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation

  • Create at volunteer opportunities for at least 5 students to get engaged


  • Send out monthly newsletter to donors

  • Call donors to update them on our progress

  • Collaborate with fundraising events coordinator on events to find ways to increase donor base in Portland

Minimum Commitment: August 29, 2016 - January 20, 2017 with possibility to extend based on performance and project availability

Compensation: As a small grassroots organizaiton we are currently unable to provide compensation for interns. However, if you are a student and qualify for work study we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact.
Additionally, we are happy to help you receive course credit for the internship.
