Mission Statement

FOUNDED IN 1972, One Reel fuels Seattle civic pride through signature experiences that foster growth and development in our community and the arts. Our objective to increase participation and oppurtunities for artists and audiences from all backgrounds, and to leave a lasting cultural legacy for future generations.

Description

Founded in 1972, One Reel fuels civic pride through signature experiences that foster growth and development in community and the arts. We connect audiences with diverse and progressive arts and cultural ideas through access and opportunities that would otherwise not exist. There is no one else who does what we do. We want to light up Seattle, the Northwest and the nation with the best, most interesting and unique events imaginable. The experiences we produce are emblematic of Seattle values: arts, accessibility and inclusivity. While many of our events are thought of as iconic and defining of our city, in fact it is ultimately Seattle that guides and defines our work. Our projects have included Bumbershoot, Family 4th at Lake Union, Emerald City Search, Teatro ZinZanni, Summer Nights Concert Series, The Dreamliner Arts Festival, Goodwill Arts Festival, WOMAD and dozens of other memorable events and celebrations. We are proud to have been recognized numerous times over the years by our peers in the event and festival industries, including the 2008 Grand Pinnacle for Best Event to Bumbershoot-the highest honor bestowed by the International Festivals and Events Association.
