You hear a ball rolling toward you as you jump in front of it to stop the ball from crossing the goal line . That's Goal Ball! Goal Ball is a sport in which all players are blindfolded and you use your ears to track the location of a ball with bells inside of it. You use your body to block the ball from crossing the goal line. This sport was originally created for those who are blind or visually impaired, but anyone can play since all players are blindfolded. Come out and play or volunteer with our team, The Raleigh Avengers! We meet weekly on Fridays from 6pm to 8pm. Check out our website www.eyeretreat.org.

Description
The EYE Retreat aims to squeeze five years of one's life into five days to prepare them for the rigor and expectations of college life. The EYE Retreat begins day one with the transition from senior year of high school to freshmen year of college with activities focused on getting to know your roommate and preparing for the first day of class. Days two, three, and four aim to include many of the activities one would experience during their freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior years of college. These may include transportation, communicating with faculty, money management, vocational rehabilitation, disability services, and assistive technology. A mock class is also included during this time that will serve as the foundation for the coursework. Finally, the fifth day is dedicated to activities to transition from college life to community living. In particular, accessible sports, cooking, and career exploration are noteworthy activities.
