Shangri-La's Youth and Family Services aims to ignite hope and vision for children, youth and families to realize and actualize positive, healthy futures. Shangri-La's Youth & Family Services are available in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties. It is made possible through a partnership with the Oregon Department of Human Services.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a Bilingual Assistant to help as a translator for clients wishing to use our services. Volunteer would coordinate with management team on translating materials and serve as a mentor on-site by assisting with translation for clients. Volunteer would also be trained to serve as a support/mentor onsite for clients.
The ideal applicant would be able to travel between Dallas, Santiam, and Woodburn locations. Please let us know if you are interested, regardless of your transportation availability.
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be bilingual (fluent) in Somali/English or Swahili/English. Requires the continuous and effective use of interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
