Treasurer

  • Financial transaction oversight - Being knowledgeable about who has access to the organization’s funds, and any outstanding bills or debts owed, as well as developing systems for keeping cash flow manageable.
  • Budgets - Developing the annual budget as well as comparing the actual revenues and expenses incurred against the budget.
  • Financial Policies - Overseeing the development and observation of the organization’s financial policies.
  • Reports - Keeping the board regularly informed of key financial events,trends, concerns, assessment, quarterly committee reports forms and annual finance reports.
  • Finance Committee- Serving as Chair of the Finance Committee

Carnegie Writers, Inc. (CW) is a community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for diverse writers and was inspired by The Carnegie Writers' Group, founded in August of 2013 by Oluwakemi Elufiede. The mission is to advance education, encourage collaboration, and provide resources for writing and literacy. The vision is to encourage children, adolescents and adults by providing positive and productive support in writing and literacy education based on personal goals.

We educate through workshops, tutorials, guest presentations, professional development training, and conferences.

We write through power writing, progressive writing, and publications.

We collaborate through group meetings, events, partnerships, and community-based programs.
