Share your expertise with us!
In preparation for next academic school year, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is arranging guest speakers from a variety of industries to visit our classrooms and speak to students about their respective careers. If interested, we would love to arrange for you (or a representative from your organization) to spend about 30 minutes chatting with our students and sharing what you do and how you got there.
Please take a few moments to look over the dates below and let us know if you’d be interested in joining us that day. There is no need to prepare any materials or presentations-our students are mostly interested in hearing about what you do day-to-day, what you like most/least about your job, and what advice you have for the younger generation.
October 25 th Tuesday - 1:45pm-3:15pm (3 speakers needed)
November 10 th Thursday - 1:45pm-3:15pm (4 speakers needed)
February 9 th Thursday - 1:45pm-3:15pm (4 speakers needed)
April 11 th Tuesday - 1:45pm-3:15pm (4 speakers needed)
We’re excited to expose students to a variety of career paths, hear personal stories, connect with successful members of the community, and help our students begin forming ideas about what type of career they will pursue. Mission Statement
The mission of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy is to educate students in a college preparatory program to be literate, critical thinkers, and independent problem solvers who are agents of social justice with sensitivity toward the world around them.
Description
Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world.
CNCA students reside in some of the most historically underserved areas of Central Los Angeles, including the communities of MacArthur Park, Pico-Union, Wilshire Corridor, and Echo Park - a region that holds the second densest neighborhood in the U.S., where the annual family income is among the lowest in the city.
