We need volunteers to help with our Garden of WEEDING! We are trying to remove some invasive species to make room for native plantings to welcome birds, beneficial insects and wildlife into our non profit's outdoor area. We are a certified wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and a member of the Hopewell Valley Open Space/Private Land Stewardship Program. You will be assisting with weed removal (no harsh chemicals-just plain old digging em up) and replanting when the time is right. You can also help us to maintain and perhaps transplant some native plantings from one area to another. Our goals are to keep our NWF certification in good standing and up to date and to provide a zen like atmosphere for the dogs (and their people) who visit seeking help.
We are a non profit organiztion providing support services and tutoring to kind people who adopt from animal shelters or breed rescue groups or those who are fostering animals from shelters or rescue groups.
Our educational services help abused, abandonded animals who are transitioning from homeless to a forever home. We do not kennel dogs on site, but rather offer an educational environment, gently used equipment, and free training to help those on both sides of the leash when a dog is adopted or fostered.
If this opportunity interests you please take a peek at our website ( www.doingrightbyrescues.org) for a detailed description of the work we do to help those who help animals. And thank you in advance for whatever you can do to support our mission-we could not do what we do without the kindness of volunteers!
Thank you for reading about our opportunity and I am hoping that our paths cross, Pam Morgan
