RSVP Mentoring Program for Justice-involved Youth - adults 55+ only

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP in New York City connects adults aged 55 and over with volunteer opportunities in their communities that match their skills, interests, and availability.

Specifically, our Mentoring Program signature project provides support to NYC youth impacted by juvenile justice interactions or parental incarceration, providing them with general mentoring as well as teaching them the skills they need to build on their strengths and overcome challenges. Further, our program empowers those of our mentees struggling academically and socially to make positive life choices that maximize their potential and get them back on track. We are looking for older adult mentors with a lifetime of experience who can commit to nurturing mentees for at least a year helping them to work toward and achieve career, academic, and personal goals as they reach for the stars.

Please note that training during the pandemic continues to be remote, though volunteers may choose whether to serve remotely, in-person, or both.
