Love n Me is a nonprofit and we will be launching a new progroam for the LGBT community for ages 13-21. We plan to offer our program in middle and high schools.

At Love n Me we understand that, as a young member of the LGBTQ community, you may need support when facing a wide range of potentially overwhelming circumstances and emotions. From issues surrounding coming out and discrimination, to bullying, violence, anxiety, depression, HIV or other health concerns, abuse and other crises

Services:

• One-on-one support
• Coming out support groups
• Family counseling/individual counseling
• Drop-in discussion groups
• Crisis intervention
• Youth community resources
• Mentoring
• Support Groups

Description of Primary Duties: Create program for middle and high school, facilitate program, Serves as an advocate on behalf of students, Track and compile program information for grants and contracts reporting, Reaching out to schools, Manage charts and provide documentation on each client, Proficient in using agency computer and database systems, and Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: One year of direct experience working with the LGBT community, preferably in a higher education setting, is preferred. Experience working with students and/or multicultural issues is preferred. Experience in program development and implementation is preferred. Experience with student development and supervision is preferred.

Skills: A broad understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity issues is required. A demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity is required. Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required. Public presentation skills are required. The ability to implement and evaluate programming for a diverse community is required. The ability to maintain timely and effective communication through email and telephone in a professional manner is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
