IHERC is a non-profit public health research and advocacy organization. Our goal is to prevent distinguishable dangers and threats to our society through organized efforts and by helping government, individuals, and organizations make informed choices. To this end, our research covers a breadth of issues from disease to drowning and violence prevention to ultimately prolong life and promote health.
YouthWorks is an extension of IHERC that will aim to support juveniles leaving detention by providing structure and increased resources an opportunity for growth through a soft-skills and hard-skills curriculum, including vocational immersion.
Develop and write grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating YouthWorks’ mission and programs to potential funders
Assemble and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations
Maintain calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports
Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities
Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner and meet deadlines
Must be able to connect with Program Lead weekly for regular updates (can be done via phone/skype or email if communications are strong)
3+ years professional experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3-5 hour commitment each week (required)
Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants
Work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals
