A group of our middle school students with their Academic Coach

Are you looking for a regular volunteer opportunity where you can work directly with kids? We want you to tutor First Graduate middle school students!

Commitment: Once a week (Monday or Wednesday) from 3:30-4:30pm. August-December 2016.

Description:First Graduate is a college access program that helps students succeed in middle school, high school, and become the first in their families to graduate from college ready to pursue meaningful careers. On this path to college our students need help improving their academics and becoming the best students they can be. This is where you come in. We're looking for academic coaches to give students homework assistance and help them develop organization and study skills. You will work directly with small groups of First Graduate students (1-5) to help them succeed in school and develop skills beyond the classroom. This is a truly hands-on volunteer opportunity that makes a huge impact on our students' lives.

Academic coaches will be trained and supported by a First Graduate staff member throughout your time volunteering with us. It is our goal to ensure that you start working with students feeling confident, and always have a staff member present. All volunteers will be required to complete a background check before they start volunteering with First Graduate.
