The Gallery Interpreter volunteer will engage the guests about the animals found throughout the gallery. This volunteer will initiate engaging and interactive narratives to tell the story of the exhibits and animals.
Display an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Seek out and engage the guests.
Develop stories about our living collection based on information collected from training class.
Discuss the conservation efforts of the Georgia Aquarium as it pertains to beluga whales, sea otters and the overall 4R program.
Discuss further guest experiences such as Beluga and Friends Interactive Program, Seafood Savvy and sea otter conservation.
Continue to remain current on gallery information through participation in yearly training.
Guide the guest experience to ensure a memorable and positive visit while fostering educational growth.
Assist with special educational activities and programs as needed/
Serve as a liaison between staff and guests, notifying appropriate personnel about challenges and successes in the exhibit area.
Assist with animal and guest safety throughout the Aquarium.
Perform other duties as workload necessitates.
Provide an environment of hospitality by demonstrating professional expectations and supporting the Embodiments of Georgia Aquarium

- 8 hours a month
- Volunteers will need to complete basic animal/gallery training courses prior to volunteering.
