Urban Squash Cleveland is a youth development organization that works with children from Cleveland city schools. Urban Squash Cleveland combines academic support, instruction in the sport of squash, community service, mentorship, life skills and highly valuable opportunities to transform the lives of middle and high school children in Cleveland.
Urban Squash Cleveland is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers to work with students and assist the Squash Coach and Academic Coordinator during team practice and academic programming.
Urban Squash Cleveland partners with Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University to provide two locations for students to practice squash and receive academic support.
Programming begins at 4:00 pm and ends at 6:30 pm during the week. On Saturdays, programming runs from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteer hours within these time frames are flexible. The youngest age we accept are high school students.
What we look for in academic volunteers are individuals who are willing to help a student figure out a lesson or work through a problem. Squash Volunteers should have enough experience with the game to be able to correctly feed the ball for drills.
Urban Squash Cleveland provides volunteers with the opportunity to engage with their community and have a meaningful impact on the youth they mentor.
