Power-Hour is a specific system aimed at helping children with completion and comprehension of homework assignments. Volunteers support a teacher in a classroom with a group of children from a specific grade, answering questions and explaining difficult concepts. The ultimate goal is to instill good study habits and inspire students to pursue further education in a fun and engaging manor.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) was founded in 1958 with the goal of providing children with a safe and inspiring environment in which to grow and develop the skills and attitudes needed for life. Simply by volunteering you not only help to fulfill BGCP’s objective, you also:

  • Gain valuable experience in a leadership position
  • Gain valuable experience working with children
  • Make a difference in a child’s life by acting as a role model
  • Gain volunteer hours that appeal to colleges and employers
