Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO) - based at First Lutheran Church - needs a volunteer Food Coordinator to oversee the free meal program that takes place every Monday and Friday. The Food Coordinator oversees food donations, plans the menu, and manages 10 kitchen volunteers in cooking for 150. The Food Coordinator maintains the kitchen, keeps records of food donations, and maintains an inventory of food on hand, while insuring a rotation plan of items in stock.
Hours are: Mondays 1pm - 5pm, Mid-week 2 hours, Fridays 6am - 10am
Must have a ServeSafe Certificate and must be knowledgeable with running a kitchen. We would like a minimum of five month commitment.

Description
For 40 years, volunteers from First Lutheran Church and the greater community have made and served homemade meals to the underprivedged in downtown San Diego. Free Meals are offered Mondays at 4 p.m. and Fridays at 9 a.m. In addition, free medical and dental services offered by the U.C.S.D. Department of Family and Preventative Medicine as well as free accupuncture services offered by the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine are available on Mondays to all low-income persons.
