Communication Support Volunteer
Job Description
Title: Communication Support Volunteer
Purpose: To create a Community Resource Center monthly newsletter
Duties and Responsibilities include and may not be limited to the following:
* Create newsletter template
* Work in cooperation with CRC staff to write, develop and edit newsletter content by conducting interviews with staff either face-to-face, over the telephone or by email
* Select subject matter and photos based on agency activities and/or ideas expressed by CRC staff and/or board members
* If requested, solicit articles or stories for the newsletter and write additional content for newsletter
* Submit work to the CEO in correct format
* Ensure accuracy of publication and be prepared to rewrite and revise work following feedback from proof-readers
Time Requirement
- · The amount of time spent on each newsletter varies by the length of the articles and by the volunteer’s work preferences; a minimum one year time commitment is required
Skills and Qualifications
- · Ability to meet strict deadlines work independently as well as part of a team
- · Punctual and dependable and able to see task through completion
- · Graphic design and communications experience, strong writing and language skills and working knowledge of adobe suite desired
Supervision
- · Communication Support volunteer will report to the CEO and be supported by Volunteer Manager
