We have several opportunities in the Washington County Cemetery Preservation Group, Inc.
If you like the outdoors then the cemetery group might be for you. We offer hands on training on how to properly clean a tombstone and do simple repairs to a tombstone. There is also plenty of opportunities to research, photograph, and survey the over 300 cemeteries in Washington County. And yes, we have administrative opportunites as well.
Some of the volunteer opportuniets include a Website Coordinator, Social Media Director, General Clerk/Administrative Assistant, Newsletter Editor, Publicist and a possible board position. If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact us write away for an interview. Some of these activities can even be done at home!
If you have an interest is in cemeteries and their preservation, the opportunities abound. Ask about our internship program. Great opportunites for college studients!

Mission Statement
To document each burial site and cemetery, to maintain this information for public use, and to file all documentation with city and county officials To organizae the maintenance and preservation of our county cemeteries by working with local governments, landowners, and descendants of those buried in county cemeteries. To educate about the Arkansas state cemetery laws and preservation guidelines.
Description
Many of Washington County's historic cemeteries were once located in the midst of thriving communities, but have become neglected, overgrown, and forgotten over time. Growth and development now place many of these cemeteries in danger of being destroyed and lost forever.
The Washington County Cemetery Preservation Group is partnering with service organizations, church groups, and individual volunteers to provide a long-term plan for maintenance and preservation of our county's historic cemeteries.
WE NEED YOU! We have many, many areas of our organization in which we need volunteers to help us carry out our mission. Not only do we need volunteers to help clean, repair, and maintain our county cemeteries. We also need help doing certain office duties, such as research and correspondence. If you can help out just one or two hours per week, that would be wonderful!
