Relay For Life of Issaquah is a signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Composed of volunteers, the Event Leadership Team works on recruiting, event logistics, and promoting fundraising for the fight against cancer. Training is both formal and informal, varying by position and experience of the volunteer. Time commitments vary by position. All Event Leadership Team members are expected to attend monthly Relay Rallies and Leadership Team meetings. All Event Leadership Team members are expected to raise a minimum of $100 to qualify for Hope Club.


- Provide support and/or team fundraising ideas to team captains and participants when needed

- Encourage team fundraising by presenting fundraising ideas at Relay Rallies

- Coordinate teams to fundraise at Relay Rallies

- Track team fundraising activities; updating each team’s effort towards their fundraising goal

- Create fundraising calendar to ensure we have one fundraising challenge each month

- Partner with Online Lead, Publicity Lead, and Team Ambassadors to promote fundraising challenges and recognize successes and winners

- Monitor progress of fundraising challenges, determine winner(s) and present prizes

- Report on team fundraising efforts at planning team meetings

- Provide fundraising recognition to individuals and teams

- Encourage and educate teams to use "matching gift" programs
