Relay For Life of Issaquah is a signature fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Composed of volunteers, the Event Leadership Team works on recruiting, event logisitics, and promoting fundraising for the fight against cancer. Training is both formal and informal, varying by position and experience of the volunteer. Time commitments vary by position. All Event Leadership Team members are expected to attend monthly Relay Rallies and Leadership Team meetings. All Event Leadership Team members are expected to raise a minimum of $100 to qualify for Hope Club.


- Build relationships with team captains through meetings, phone calls, and communication throughout the Relay season

- Ensure participants reach $100 Hope Club fundraising minimums and beyond

- Work with Bring the People team to make sure team spreadsheets are up to date

- Mentor new team captains, support returning team captains

- Prepare all team captains for the event

- Act as a resource to go to ask questions, etc.

- Distribute important information about Relay Rallies, fundraising challenges, event logistics, etc.

- High School Team Ambassadors collect youth participation and chaperone forms; maintain Facebook group for school Relayers; lead Relay Club meetings

- Note: For International, Issaquah, Liberty and Skyline High Schools - three individuals should fill this role (1 senior, 1 junior and 1 sophomore)
