Radio Eye, a radio reading service for people who are blind, have low-vision or other limitations making reading difficult, is currently seeking volunteer readers.
Volunteer positions involve recording a newspapers, magazines, books, and more Monday through Friday between 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Readers are assigned a publication to read each week for a permanent spot or can come in irregularly and help fill in open spots as needed. We are looking for all accents and types of voices.
Your recorded program will be broadcast later to our listeners on radios in homes, hospitals, and cable TV throughout our 4 streams (Lexington, Louisville, Morehead, and Eastern Kentucky), and live streaming on our website.
We hold one-on-one volunteer orientations by appointment only. Orientations usually last for 30 minutes followed by a short audition. All of this information is on our website at www.radioeye.org listed under the 'volunteers’ tab.
