About

Are you looking to fulfill some community service hours? Or maybe you are bored with your everyday routine and looking to get involved with something that’s a little more rewarding? OR maybe you just really love working with kids in a fun environment?! The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula is looking for dedicated and consistent volunteers to work with our youth!

1 hour a week is all that is needed to make an impact in our community. We serve three communities in Redwood City, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park and in need of enthusiastic and inspiring leaders to help our youth across the 9 different sites we serve!

Please take a look at the opportunities below to see what suits your skill set and interest:

General Tutoring/Academic Support: We are seeking patient and influential volunteers to help our youth in all subjects, grades 1 st-12. You will be responsible for helping them with homework assignments and reviewing concepts discussed in their classes. As youth are impressionable to outside influences, you will also be acting as a role model and mentor. You will work towards changing attitudes towards school and increasing their academic performance. We have a minimum commitment level of one hour per week for 10 weeks; however, we always welcome you to commit more time!

Homework Help/Class Elective Support: We are looking for creative and hands-on individuals to assist our after-school teachers with homework hour and in the various electives we have created for our youth. The commitment level is one hour per week for 10 weeks.
