Class Grandparents for A Fourth Grade Class

I am looking for "grandparents" for my fourth grade class. I firmly believe that children can never have too many people who care about them. And who better to care for kids than grandparents? All the fun and none of the responsibility! I am looking for some loving grandparents to adopt my class. I'd like the grandparents come visit my class on a regular basis and get to know my students. Some activities might include reading to students one on one, chatting with students about thier day. Maybe you would like to sit with my class at breakfast or lunch and just chat about life? Of course, we would love for you to participate in class parties. I want grandparents to communicate to my students that they are seen, heard and cared about. I'd like for us to get to know you as well. What can we learn from your life experiences? I want my class to feel like a family and granparents are the best part of family!

You will need to complete a background check through Los Angeles Unified School District. We are located in Mid-City LA (near Pico and LaBrea Ave.) There is only street parking and our street cleaning is on Wed/Thursday. So those days are a bit trickier, but doable.
