Position Summary

Manage and coordinate volunteer programs and activities of the BikeCDA nonprofit organization. Directly supervise volunteers for educational activities, bike rodeos and safety demonstration sessions. Oversee all volunteers, maintain and update volunteer data and communicate regularly with volunteers. Develop and carry out a new volunteer orientation, which each volunteer should attend. Serve as a vital member of the team that plans, executes, and reviews all BikeCDA programs requiring volunteer participation. Coordinate activities to ensure mission-informed participation at events and professional and positive impressions and outcomes for BikeCDA.

Manage all volunteer programs and activities, including recruitment, training, operations and recognition.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Work with the web developer to ensure the most up to date activities are listed on BikeCDA and BikeCDA’s Facebook page. Maintain and create positions on https://www.volunteermatch.org/. Carry out new volunteer orientation for new volunteers. Coordinate, track and deploy volunteers as required for events and activities of the organization. Train volunteers as required or arrange for the training with qualified instructor.

Job Duty Function

Manage volunteers for BikeCDA signature programs; like the bike safety education, the bike giveaway program and community outreach events.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Oversee the planning, coordination, and conduct of all volunteers at these programs. Work with schools, after school programs, and community members to develop set times and days for bike education programs. Coordinate set times and days for volunteers to help with the bike repair and giveaway program.

Communicate with volunteers and other BikeCDA stakeholders.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Establish standard operating procedures for accessioning, tracking and communicating with BikeCDA volunteers. Take responsibility for implementing these procedures and encouraging stakeholders to do the same.

Qualifications

  • Passion for promoting bicycling as a healthy and safe activity
  • Experience as a volunteer for nonprofit, community-oriented organization
  • High energy level and ability to devote an average of 10-20 hours each month to BikeCDA activity planning and participation
  • Ability to identify, engage and motivate volunteers
  • Event planning skills
