ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

I am the liaison between the American Cancer Society and all of the Denver Metro hospitals and cancer centers. We have just entered into contract with Presbyterian St. Luke's, Denver Health and Red Rocks Cancer Center to open volunteer run Cancer Resource Centers (CRC's) within their facilities. I am looking to find volunteers to come on board to help newly diagnosed patients being treated at the facility in navigating any of the psycho social support that they may need. These opportunities could be helping facilitate free rides or lodging during treatment, fitting and giving a patient a new wig, connecting with social workers, among other things. Someone who is comfortable talking compassionately with a newly diagnosed patient is a must! If you, a mother or father, brother or sister, friend or child may be looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities please reach out!
