Open Your Heart and Volunteer with Hospice!

Be the gift of simple compassionate companionship. Spend 2 hours a week visiting a hospice patient in their home in Sandy. Companionship is many things -- listening to stories of a lifetime, sharing in activities of art, music, games, reading favorite books, poetry, or prayer, sitting in the warm summer sun, holding a hand in sacred silence. The majority of our patients live in a senior community setting -- assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, adult care home -- so volunteer companionship is even more important for those folks not living at home with their family.

Weekly visits are extremely flexible and we assign you to a patient/family closest to where you live. We serve patients living in Sandy, Gresham, Troutdale, Estacada, Oregon City and all Portland metropolitan areas.
The next volunteer training, comprised of 3 sessions, is scheduled for September 23rd, 24th, and 30th.

Volunteer roles include: companion volunteer, vigil volunteer, bereavement volunteer, musician volunteer, pet-assisted volunteer, massage therapy volunteer, aroma therapy volunteer and more.
