ORGANIZATION: Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care

  • 3 people are interested

Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care is a for-profit organization which is required by Arizona state and US federal law to maintain a volunteer program with the purpose of providing comfort and companionship to hospice patients and their families.

At the current date (7/26/16) we have numerous patients in the 85395 zip code who would benefit from your presence in their lives. No specific skills are necessary; a caring presence is something anyone can offer. However, if you have specific skills we can certainly use those as well - we have volunteers who sing, play music, visit with therapy animals, perform massage or Reiki, style hair, and otherwise use their talents for our patients' benefit.

Seasons Hospice will educate you on the topics that you need to know - privacy rights, volunteer do's and don'ts, boundaries, heatlh awareness, etc - and we will mentor you throughout your volunteer service.

Despite the minimal requirements for this opportunity, the experience is not something that everyone will be comfortable doing so we ask you to consider seriously before you apply for this position. We have limited resources to solicit, train, and orient volunteers and we would like to use those resources to provide the maximum number of volunteers for our patients and their families. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss this opportunity to confirm your interest.

If after your careful consideration you would like to apply you may do so online at www.seasons.org. After you submit your application you will be contacted to arrange an orientation to begin your volunteer service as a hospice patient companion.
