Have Fun, Eat Lunch, Laugh & Listen

Join in fun activities and help guide Members to have a meaningful day in a casual environment. We need volunteers 1 or 2 days/week alongside people with Alzheimer's or other mild-to-moderate cognitive issues, to help them stay socially engaged and active (while their family caregivers get a break.) We play music and cards, try out art projects, and generally laugh and learn and tell stories at this non-residential daytime memory program for older adults.

Choose Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays in Downtown Carnation, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
We meet in the front meeting room of a welcoming church. Usually about 10 to 15 people, with 2 staff and (ideally) 2 volunteers daily. We are looking for volunteers who can arrive at 9 a.m. to help set up chairs, etc, assist with the activities of the day, serve and share lunch, and help tidy up at the end of the day. A 6-hour shift is preferred. Shorter shifts are also very helpful.

You can help us create a welcoming environment of fun, respect and joy!

(Also seeking volunteers for Old Friends Club in Kirkland.)
