SBP is a national disaster recovery organization that aims to shrink time between disaster and recovery. While we can’t prevent natural disasters, we believe we can prevent some of the suffering that comes with them. SBP has formed affiliates in response to natural disasters all across the United States. Our NY affiliate was formed in 2012 in response to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. With over 100 families still remaining on our waiting list, this affiliate is in constant need of volunteers to dedicate their time to aide in our cause. As a non-profit, we are completely dependent on the goodwill of our volunteers in order to be able to do the work that we do. Please consider taking the time out of your busy schedule to come and help in bringing a family back home since Sandy. There is no skill set required as we have trained site supervisors who will help you every step of the way. There are currently sites throughout Brooklyn and Queens and an SBP Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to accomodate your needs! Thank you!
