The Metropolitan Tenants Organization (MTO) is seeking individuals sharing our passionate belief that housing is a human right, to serve on our Board of Directors. MTO’s mission is to educate, organize and empower tenants to have a voice in the decisions that affect the affordability and availability of safe, decent and accessible housing.
On MTO’s Board, you will learn about the everyday challenges of preserving affordable housing options for low and moderate income families in the Chicago area, and the public policy decisions impacting those challenges. In exchange, we seek your assistance in your area of expertise - be that fundraising, outreach, or event planning; human resources; corporate, foundation, community, or government outreach; marketing; property management; coalition building; and/or some other relevant area. Board Members meet every other month, work on committees, and are required to become MTO members and be supportive of agency events as able.
To apply, please send notification of interest and a current resume to John Bartlett, MTO’s Executive Director, for consideration by the Board’s Recruitment Committee (firstname.lastname@example.org).
