Interested in hospice volunteering but not sure about patient contact? Volunteer to assist our bereavement department. Bereavement volunteers make supportive phone calls to families after their loved one has died; they also visit families at times to remind them of the support available to them through hospice. Orientation and training provided before volunteers perform tasks independently. No experince required-just a willingness to listen be available to those in need.
