If you have a great cat, dog or other pet, and can commit to 4 visits, why not bring him/her in to spread some joy to seniors? Englewood Post-Acute and Rehabilitation is looking for volunteers who would like to commit to 4 visits of bringing in their lovable pets and spend some time with our elderly residents, either 1:1 in their rooms(if they are bed-bound) or in a group setting in our common area. We accept all well-mannered, calm, lovable pets - they do NOT need to be certified therapy animals: they will simply complete a short "pet interview" with our activities staff to make sure they have the sweet, mellow temperament we’re looking for. We have many residents that only light up when there is an animal around! Anyone under 18 can come with an adult. Scheduling is flexible: once a week, every other week, or even once a month! You pick your schedule and we’ll just expect to have you then. Application, orientation, training and background check can be done online, and you can begin volunteering in about a week!
