The Kentucky Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that training will be held for volunteers interested in enhancing the performing arts experience for patrons with hearing disabilities. Caption Theater (Open Captioning) is provided for selected performances for patrons who are deaf or who have hearing loss. The audible elements (script) are shown on an LED sign, in real time, as each line is spoken or sung. The service is provided for a variety of performances in multiple venues in and around Louisville (The Kentucky Center, Actors Theatre Louisville, The Brown Theater and more).

Those interested in joining and training for the Caption Theater Team should contact Stacy Ridgway at access@kentuckycenter.org or text 502-780-1249 to get more information. Those selected to participate in training must be available for an intensive classroom training on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6PM to 9PM, Saturday August 25, 2018 from 9AM - 5:00pm, and Sunday August 26, 2018 from 10:00am - 5:00 pm.
