Mission Statement
Cultured Movement is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to provide cultural competence via the art of dance as a means to serve women and children by promoting health, fitness, exercise and disease prevention.
Description
"Cultured" is the defining word of Cultured Movement: A Dance Experience. Upon stepping into the world of Cultured Movement, one will feel as if she has stepped into the great cultural places of the United States, Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe, Australia and/or any other continent/country her mind can envisage. Cultured Movement consists of cultural dance classes that mix calisthenics with urban and cultural - inspired dance rhythms for improvement of the body, creativity of the mind and rhythm for the soul. Dance class genres include hip-hop, modern, jazz while incorporating dance forms from various cultural influences.
In addition, Cultured Movement adheres to the targets of the federal government’s initiative, "Healthy People," by addressing fitness, exercise, health promotion and disease prevention. While offering a cultural experience, each dance class will include caloric breakdown and muscle utilization. Cultured Movement is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles, enhancing body image/self-esteem and encouraging women and children to invest in their bodies while engaging in dance as an art form.
