Change starts with you! Caring adults are needed to assist 9th grade students improve their reading skills. Reading proficiency will help students stay in school and motivate them to work toward post-secondary education.
Volunteers will help 9th grade English Language Learners improve their reading skills through short novels, collaborative writing, and a caring mentor relationship. This is a fun, innovative program that allows the student to gradually become a co-author of a book.
Mentor has the chance of turning-around a life full of unrealized potential and, in doing so, contributing to a promising future of shared prosperity and united community.
Did you know many companies and organizations allow employees to volunteer during office hours as part of their overall giving-back or community engagement policy? Check with your employer about this possibility. Thank You!
