A little one-on-one attention and encouragement is all it takes to help a struggling student. And, as you help a student, you are helping the future citizens, leaders, and workers of our community!

Caring adults are needed once a week for an hour to help economically disadvantaged English Language Learners improve their reading abilities. The volunteer will assist a student in identifying goals, making an action plan to achieve them, practicing reading strategies, and in providing continuous encouragement. Time and day of the week are chosen by the volunteer.

Proficiency in reading will increase student’s chances to transition successfully to high school, build a career, and, ultimately, become a productive citizen.

Do not wait. Help us tap into our youth's potential by volunteering!

Did you know many companies and organizations allow employees to volunteer during office hours as part of their overall giving-back or community engagement policy? Check with your employer about this possibility. Thank You!
