The Organization:
We are PeaceGeeks. We empower grassroots organizations by building technology partnerships to transform their efforts to promote peace and human rights in developing and conflict-affected areas. We build the capacity of grassroots, non-profit organizations to leverage technological innovations to enhance their operational efficiency, improve data collection and dissemination capabilities, amplify the visibility of critical issues and connect and engage with their stakeholders. PeaceGeeks works remotely by providing tools and training to local organizations on the ground to support them in affecting change in their own communities.

Position Overview:
The Scriptwriter will develop copy for our annual crowdfunding campaign, which will take place from October to November. This position requires strong communications skills and works well in a team. The Content Writer will report to PeaceGeeks’ Marketing Lead and Campaign Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Write a script for our campaign video that is captivating, informative, and in line with PeaceGeeks mission and values
  • Work with our Videographer and Campaign Manager to help execute the video
  • Develop multiple writing materials to assist other team members' understanding of the campaign
  • Assist the marketing department with other marketing communications activities
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects

Qualifications:

  • Completed or working towards Bachelor’s degree or diploma in creative writing, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Self-starter who can think creatively and execute new ideas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create professional marketing content (web, print, blogs, etc.)
  • Strong ability to work in a team and independently
  • Tech savvy
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a positive 'can do’ attitude
