Our non-profit 501(c)(4) organization is searching for dedicated hands to help with Court Case Management, an important activity that supports our mission statement!
This opportunity involves creating Facebook invites for upcoming court cases in Ohio relating to animal cruelty and neglect (companion pets) and monitoring progress on all activity related to these cases.
ABOUT OVCA's COURT CASE MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE!
OVCA works to gather media articles about cruelty and neglect involving Ohio’s companion animals. We also follow Ohio court cases in which animal cruelty charges have been brought.
Once an article has been identified, we publish a link to it as well as links to any related articles. We hope th at OVCA’s friends and supporters use the information to advocate for stronger animal welfare laws including evidence-based local ordinances. Courteous participation at the local and state levels is CRITICAL to moving animal welfare law in a positive direction!
We also publish an "Event" for each court proceeding and encourage animal advocates to hold a peaceful rally beforehand. Respectful attendance at the court proceeding itself is another way to raise awareness of instances of animal abuse in the community.
IMPORTANT: We’re asking for media articles only. If you know of companion animals being abused or neglected, PROMPTLY REPORT THE MATTER TO LAW ENFORCEMENT IN YOUR COMMUNITY!

We are an Ohio citizen-driven, community- based nonprofit corporation concerned about the welfare of companion animals. We want stronger laws to protect them and we expect those laws to be rigorously enforced. Our goal is to become a significant advocate for companion animals in Ohio. We will accomplish this through public awareness campaigns, grassroots advocacy and legislative engagement.
