Charlotte Pride Festival

Saturday, August 26, 2017, 10am - 10pm Sunday, August 27, 2017, 11am - 8pm

The two-day cultural festival includes diverse national, regional and local entertainers, musicians and bands, and numerous participating vending booths, including art exhibitors, area non-profits, political candidates, retailers, food stands and more. The premier event is the culmination of a week-long slate of Charlotte Pride Week events highlighting the social, cultural, ethnic, artistic and political diversity of the metro Charlotte area’s LGBTQ community.

Looking for volunteers to help work the backstage area (Check artists in, prepare dressing rooms for artists, escort artists to stage, etc.) Preference given to those who can work the entire day.

Charlotte Pride creates programs and activities to enrich, empower, strengthen and make visible the unique lives and experiences of LGBTQ people in Charlotte and the Carolinas.

Description

The purpose of Charlotte Pride is to eliminate prejudice and discrimination of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, and Queer (hereinafter referred to as "LGBTQ") community, to celebrate and foster a sense of pride, unity and diversity within the community, and to continually educate and promote awareness of diversity, health, culture, and acceptance of individuals based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

Further, Charlotte Pride seeks to promote a positive image of the LGBTQ community within the Charlotte region and throughout the Southeastern United States through community activities, events, and services.
