We're seeking people to narrate short prose and memoirs for our podcast. Our prose pieces are typically less than 1000 words in length and may contain both male and female voices in one story. They average about 10 minutes in length when read aloud.
You will need your own recording apparatus such as a laptop, iPhone, or computer with a separate plug-in microphone or a recording headset. You will also need some cheap equipment to help with recording: curtains or a blanket around your head will create a soundroom; foam over your microphone makes a screen to reduce plosives.
To audition, record and send us an audio file about 1 to 3 three minutes long.
The website Howtorecordpodcasts.com has some cheap, simple tips on how to record your own audio file for a podcast.

Description
We are a group made up mostly of retired editors and writers that volunteer to read submissions of prose and poetry. Our editors choose the best of the submissions and then publish those stories and artwork on our website. As a non-profit, our main fund-raising goal is to pay for web hosting service and other attendant expenses, but we would like to have a budget to support local writing groups and conferences. Currently we are expanding and in need of a volunteers to help with developing sections of the website and to do community outreach.
